We affectionately call ourselves “Roomies.”
We’d love to call you one, too.
You + Common Room
You’d be joining a team that revels in asking hard questions, collaborating gladly, and making decisions quickly — a team that values simplicity, passion, trust, each other, and our customers above all.
Interested in working with us? Well, we're glad you're here.
Who we are
Common Room is focused on enabling deeper relationships between organizations and the people who use their products and services. We're a Seattle-based startup that's currently 100% remote.
For engineering roles, we're specifically looking for people in the Pacific time zone. For all other roles, we're open to discussion. When we set up our official HQ, it'll be located in the greater Seattle area.
We center our hiring discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and make decisions based on four core values. Sound like you?
We work backwards from the needs of our customers. The crisp articulation of customer value guides our decisions.
We strive for simplicity
We choose simplicity over complexity whenever possible. We seek to identify and understand the essential quality of what we are building.
We craft excellence
We take pride in our craft and are relentless in our pursuit of excellence. But we also know real artists ship.
We’re all in this together
We measure personal success by the success of our customers and teammates. Relationships matter, and the strongest ones are built on trust, enablement, and transparency.
We believe it’s important to feel excited about where you work.

"The interview was so pleasant - the attitude, mood, and questions were perfect. Thank you for setting this up! I think it was close but no dice."
"I enjoyed the interview process, and it's clear you put a lot of thought into designing it. In particular, the tech questions were much more relevant and practical than most tech interviews I've seen."
"I thoroughly enjoyed discussing the values at Common Room. I also appreciated your infectious energy and enthusiasm - it's the kind of energy that I used to be surrounded with [and] was a tangible reminder of what I'm looking for."
