At Uncommon, we believe communities are strongest when they uplift one anotherโ€”so we started the Uncommon Support fund.

Every time we record an Uncommon Conversation with a community expert - like this one with Joshua Zerkel at Asana - we donate to a nonprofit organization of the expert's choice and ask them to share a bit about what makes the organization's mission extra special for them. In addition to Joshua at Asana, we've sat down with Jeff Barr from AWS, Ale Murray from Confluent, and Shahed Khan from Loom, and we've got a lot more conversations on the way.

Joshua dedicated his Uncommon Support to Hack the Hood, a nonprofit based in Oakland, CA, that focuses on empowering underserved communities with tech and data literacy skills; Jeff chose Science in the City, an ongoing program at Seattle's Pacific Science Center that brings science and technology education to communities across Seattle and beyond; Ale contributed her support to Books for Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to building early literacy skills in under-resourced communities; and Shahed highlighted the life-saving work and animal welfare advocacy of the San Francisco SPCA, inspired by Loom's cutest customer, Luna the dog.

Alongside our featured community experts, partners, and leaders, we're both humbled and so very glad to dedicate Uncommon Support to organizations serving communities in need whose impacts are felt way beyond our screens.

What's Uncommon?

We're the community-driven program for community-driven people that aims to hear, support, and connect community builders to their customers and to each other. Uncommon is powered by Common Room, the community journey platform that enables modern SaaS organizations to deepen relationships across their communities, anywhere people are.
