Why it matters
Joining an organization’s Slack or Discord community is as close as a prospect can get to raising their hand without filling out a form.
When ideal personas who aren’t currently customers join your community—especially if it’s centered on your product—it’s a clear sign of interest. It could also mean they’re evaluating their options.
What to do
Monitor their movements and find an opportunity to provide value, such as answering a question or sharing helpful resources.
No one wants to get spammed by unwanted DMs in a community. Make sure you’re following community guidelines and leading with value, not bombarding people with sales messaging.
Questions to inform outreach- What actions is the person talking in your community?
- Has the person shared any information about challenges or goals?
- Is anyone else from the person’s organization active in your community?
- Is the person in a role with budget authority?
- Has the person interacted with your organization outside of your community?
- What information can you share to show the value of your product?
